BOVSKA is an artist who has been deemed one of the most important debuts of 2016 in Poland. Even before the album came out, her songs reached a record audience on the internet. To date, her online music videos have been played over 14 million times. The artist also received a Gold Record for selling over 10,000 copies of the single “Kaktus”. In addition, she was nominated for the 2017 Fryderyk award for Debut of the Year, and also for MTV Music Awards. In other words 2016 was highly successful for her. This, however, did not make her rest on her laurels. Her second album “Pysk” (Snout) has just premiered. PYSK. A euphoric state. Being high on energy. Darkness and light, with the pulse of a mellow beat. Smooth vocals, which can sometimes spring a sharp surprise. “Pysk” is a world viewed with humour and imagination. Serious sometimes, sometimes with tongue in cheek. “Pysk” is about contrasts, trips to a spaceport, the intimacy of the body, love, and sensuality. It is not always personal. “Pysk” is a burst of colour in the thick Warsaw smog. A way to deal with reality by looking through song. A way to keep one’s cool, even though one can sometimes get hurt. BOVSKA is the co-author of her new album. She created it in cooperation with Jan Smoczyński. BOVSKA is also her own publisher and head designer of the artwork. You can be surprised at the creative and not-so-obvious concept of the album. A concept that is one of a kind.
