South-East London’s Joel Culpepper features on the latest track ‘Swindle’ song, the potent “No Black, No Irish” co starring with Maverick Sabre The new cut 'NO BLACK, NO IRISH' is online now, and the killer production is augmented by some on-point vocals. The title is a reference to the London landlord sign that plagues the city in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, but it's all a reference to the commonalities of the Black and Irish immigrant experiences and the bonds that exist between parallel communities. Constructed alongside Maverick Sabre and Joel Culpepper, it's a powerful, provocative piece of music. Earning the support of his contemporaries on the underground jazz scene and respect of those he has been inspired by, Joel Culpepper is the artist’s artist and songwriter, with a once-seen-never-forgotten stage presence. His stand-out COLORS performance has received 13 million plays and counting, whilst previous EP ‘Tortoise’ showcases his stand-out vocal ability. However, it wasn’t until recently Joel decided to give up his full-time job as a Learning Mentor helping vulnerable children with behavioral difficulties, to focus solely on his music with an aim to inspire the children he had once worked with. It’s on debut album ‘Sgt Culpepper’ where Joel makes his mark, pouring his heart and soul into a conceptual record that was two years in the making.
