    Born in 1953 in Namakwaland, Richard van der Westhuizen, is one of South Africa’s most influential artists, actors and songwriters. Richard is best known to television audiences for his roles in predominantly Afrikaans dramas such as Die Mannheim Sage, Ballade Vir 'n Enkeling, Paradys, Onder Draai Die Duiwel Rond, Plek Van Die Vleisvreters, Hart Van Staal and 7de Laan. He also wrote and performed the theme song for the television series Ballade Vir 'n Enkeling in 1986. A soundtrack album including the song reached gold status in South Africa. Some of his most outstanding works include Yster & Vuur, Songs uit my Binnesak, Swerwerspoor and Tydloos. A true South African legend.
