Modern metal – with attitude. AWS is a five-piece band from the Hungarian capital Budapest, playing modern metal. The core members of AWS started out on their musical journey as teenagers in 2006. With sixteen years of intense touring in Hungary and abroad, three LPs, numerous music videos and excellent feedback from both professionals and fans under their belt, they grew to be one of the most sought-after live bands of the Hungarian metal scene. They won the Final of A Dal 2018 with sweeping support from the Hungarian metal community and they lighted up the Eurovision stage in Lisbon with their song Viszlát nyár (Summer Gone) in 2018. During their stint at Eurovision Song Contest it was announced that AWS were invited to play at Wacken Open Air in August 2018. In October the same year AWS released their fourth full-length studio record called Fekete Részem which charted at no. 2 at Hungarian Albums Charts a week later. On 6 February 2021, the band announced on Instagram that lead singer Örs Siklósi had died on 5 February from leukaemia at the age of 29. On 16 January 2023, the band introduced the new vocalist of the band, Stefán Tamás.
