Khold is a Norwegian black metal band characterized by a primal, old-school sound (reminiscent of Darkthrone) and an unusual tendency towards mid-paced tempos, rather than the genre's ever popular blastbeats. Formed in Oslo, in the year 2000, by vocalist/guitarist Gard, guitarist Rinn, bassist Eikind and drummer Sarke, Khold made their debut the following year with the album Masterpiss of Pain, released by Moonfog Records. Five more albums followed: 2002's Phantom, 2003's Mørke Gravers Kammer, 2005's Krek, 2008's Hundre År Gammal and 2014's Til Endes, but the group subsequently went on indefinite hiatus so that its members could explore other projects. 2022 sees the return of Khold: After 8 years, Khold returns with the new album "Svartsyn", released worldwide via Soulseller Records on June 24th 2022. It was recorded with Andy LaRocque in his Sonic Train Studios. What you get is 10 heavy new tracks, and Khold remains true to their original principle. Down tuned, rough, mid paced, painful… A strong musical backbone and clever musicianship...The groove, the drive and the heavy guitar riffs... Raw and primitive... Old school?
