Electronic pop duo formed 2005 in Stockholm, Sweden. The founding members still in the band are Anders Karlsson (lead vocals, synthesizers, writing, lyrics & production), Mikael Arborelius (backing vocals, synthesizers, writing & production). The debut album Almost Gone was released October 15 2010 through Electric Fantastic Sound by which they have released the singles Burning (2006), Innocence (2007), The Strip (2008), Do You Want to Go (2010), Almost Gone - Single Version, the single (2011), and Commandments (2011). The mini album Anticipation was released 2012 and the album Hunger 2013 the same year as the label A Different Drum released the limited edition compilation album Purgatorio 07-13. In 2016 Social Ambitions evolved into a quartet, together with producer/music writer Peter Lönngren and vocalist Moffe Lundberg, and released the eclectic and conceptual EP:s SA Sa Ism 1 and @Sa Ism 2. After a musical and creative hiatus the duo returned to the studio to refine their vision and sound, and went back to their musical roots and the genuine analogue sound. The result - the album A New Frontier (2020) - made Social Ambitions the winner of "Manifestgalan 2021", in the category Synth. Social Ambitions is known for their strong connection to classic synth pop mixed with indie pop, techno, rock and new wave. The mixture ends up in intense and passionate electronic pop bearing the feeling of Scandinavian sense for melodies music with danceable beats.
