CHVRLI BLVCK is a genre-hopping indie musician known for his powerful vocals, idiosyncratic lyrics, and brutal honesty. With an eclectic but immediately recognisable sound influenced by artists like Cage the Elephant, The Strokes, Fiona Apple, and early Kings of Leon. His music is a beautifully raw reflection of mental illness, naïve joy, love and loss. All that messy, emotional, human stuff. A strange kind of public therapy. A little light flagellation for the masses. A self-aware wail into the abyss. With guitars… He began releasing music in mid-2022 and has quickly developed a small but dedicated online following. With universally positive reviews, podcast interviews, and radio airplay on BBC INTRODUCING, iHeartRadio, aBreak Music, Voice FM, Amazing Radio, and more. His upcoming single: “Pathetic Paradise”, released June 28, 2023, is a delightfully bizarre indie-rock track that takes listeners on a joyous musical journey through a complete mental breakdown. This juxtaposition of difficult subject matter with dark humour and offbeat positivity creates a weird, paradoxical headspace. Wilfully immature yet thought-provoking lyrics will resonate with listeners looking for something unconventional, uncomfortable, energetic, and fun! INFLUENCES: Jeff Buckley, The Maccabees, Aimee Mann, The Strokes, Radiohead, Fiona Apple, Bon Iver, Bombay Bicycle Club, Arctic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, Bloc Party, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Caroline Polachek
