The band Arandu Arakuaa (“Knowlege of the cycles of heaven” or “Wisdom of the cosmos” in Tupi-Guarani language), was created in April 2008 when Zândhio Huku began writing songs with lyrics in Ancient Tupi language. The band is currently composed by Zândhio Huku (Guitars/ Vocals/Viola Caipira/Indigenous instruments), Andressa Barosa (Bass/Vocals) Guilherme Cerzario (Guitars/ Vocals) João Mancha (Drums/Percussion). The band's musicality merges aspects of Heavy Metal, indigenous music and Brazilian folk music with lyrics in the indigenous languages Tupi, Xerente and Xavante, inspired by the legends, rituals and struggles of Indigenous Peoples from Brazil, aiming to contribute to the dissemination and appreciation of their cultures, underestimated over the centuries. The band had an early EP called “Arandu Arakuaa” released in 2012 and three Full-Lenght albums: “Kó Yby Oré“ –2013, “Wdê Nnãkrda “– 2015, “Mrã Waze” – 2018 and singles “Waptokwa Zawré”, “Karubéûasu”, “Ybytu”, “Am’mrã”, "Kûarasy" - 2020.
