Biyografi
Kelompok Penerbang Roket is a rock band hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia. Consisting of I Gusti Viki Vikranta (drums), Rey Marshall (guitar/vocal), and John Paul Patton (bass/vocal). This band of three was formed in 2011, drawing inspirations and fiery passion for music not from the US or UK, but from Indonesia’s own legendary rock bands that have long-since become their heroes, such as Panbers and AKA. Even the name “Kelompok Penerbang Roket” (or translated to Group of Rocket Flyers) is inspired from the song titled “Mencarter Roket" (Chartering a Rocket), popularized by another legendary Indonesian rock band: Duo Kribo. Consistently blowing distortions and intense energy, Kelompok Penerbang Roket have released a debut album titled Teriakan Bocah (Screaming of a Kid) in 2015. Produced by one of Indonesia’s finest guitarist, Didit Saad. The album contains 7 songs echoing protests, critics and honest depictions of Jakarta and Indonesia. The album, released by Berita Angkasa Records, was reputed one of the best albums of 2015 by various mass media in Indonesia. Rolling Stone Indonesia honored the album as best album of 2015, proclaimed: “Teriakan Bocah is a work of young rock scientists that revives the savagery of 70’s Indo-rock. Imagine Duo Kribo hooliganism or early Panbers psychedelia modernly processed, with a significant dose, becoming a fresh, wild monster.”
