Biyografi

Chista Okolina is a hip-hop band formed in 1991 in Skopje, Macedonia. Its aim was to transcend the musical form by means of liberated creation and experimental use of Dadaistic and surrealistic principles of cultural deconstruction and self-irony. Their first album came out in 1996 under the name of “Noviot aspekt na starata shkola” (The new vision of the Old School). The album was intentionally created only with an RY-10 drum machine and Technics 1210 SL turntable used to scratch and chop samples. During the years after the first album the members worked on many other cultural and musical projects and brought themselves on a more mature level of expression. Recently the band revived and decided to continue with it’s creative flow just like they used to back in the days. In 2021 they announced their second album with the single ‘Si Igrame So Rapot’. Stay tuned for new releases coming soon. The current members are: Risto Solunchev, Viktor Georgiev, Samoil Petreski, Jane Josifovski and Luka Gjorgievski.
