Biyografi
This band was formed in 1979, joining vocal and instrumental music with roots in rock and classical music. Using electrico-acoustic instruments, and an air of strong classical tradition, the music of Sagrado Coração da Terra brings forth the Baroque atmosphere. It is a journey through time and space to the origins and future of all human musical experience. The instruments are those used in the classic tradition -- guitar, piano, and violin -- but used electronically. As in the lyrics, the music is linked to an ecological philosophy: ecology of the earth and ecology of the mind, of the heart, and of the body. Sagrado has been looked upon, in Brazil and abroad, as the most expressive work of the progressive symphonic music of Latin America. Their music links rock to the force of Aboriginal tribal rhythms and the beauty and sophistication of classical. The lyrics tell about the advent of a new era for mankind related to spiritual and ecological questions. Marcus Viana, author of the lyrics and all of the music for the group, became known to the public through several soundtracks and overtures for Brazilian television such as Pantanal, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Xica da Silva, Ana Raio e Zé Trovao, Serras Azuis, Terra Nostra, and Aquarela do Brasil. Sagrado has gone through a number of phases and some of its members have gained national recognition performing with other groups and artists. ~ Cesar Lanzarini, Rovi
