THE OATH were a short-lived international hard rock band based in Berlin, Germany. The group was formed by the native Berliner Johanna Sadonis and the American drummer Vincent Wager in June 2012. Recruiting the Swedish guitarist Linnéa Olsson (SONIC RITUAL) and bassist Simon Bouteloup (KADAVAR) who recently moved from Paris, THE OATH would record December 2012 to January 2013 at Tiger Studio in Berlin, Germany. THE OATH would release a 7" single entitled 'Night Child' April 17th 2013 via High Roller Records. Not long after the band would sign with English label Rise Above Records and tour Germany supporting the Swedish hard rock band GHOST. THE OATH records their debut album at Studio Cobra in Stockholm August 20-30th 2013, now with drummer Andy Prestige (WARNING, 40 WATT SUN) and Henrik Palm (IN SOLITUDE, GHOST) joining in on guitar. THE OATH's self titled album is relased March 17th 2014 to positive reviews. However a month later on April 23rd it would be announced that THE OATH would disband. Johanna Sadonis's vision of THE OATH would continue in concept and spirit when she creates the band LUCIFER just a month after the break-up, taking THE OATH drummer Andy with her. LUCIFER's debut album, released just one year after THE OATH's debut, will only be the beginning. Linnea Olsson would found MAGGOT HEART in 2016. Simon Bouteloup continues to play bass for Berlin's successful rock group KADAVAR.
