Yilila is the creation of Ngulmiya Nundhirribala, an accomplished singer, songwriter, songman, dancer and ceremony leader. Together with Numbulwar’s next generation of talented musicians and members of his acclaimed Red Flag Dancers dance group, Yilila mixes traditional Red Flag songs and stories with high energy reggae and rock music. The Red Flag songs tell the stories of the Makassan traders who traded with the Numburindi people of South East Arnhem for hundreds of years. This new show features a selection of mind blowing new and ancient traditional Red Flag songs.
