Coming straight from the warm city of Lisbon, Portugal, The Voynich Code is a deathcore trio that delivers unpredictable breakdowns, heavy guitar riffs, groovy drums and mysterious keyboards inspired by Death Metal, Deathcore and Progressive Metal elements. With their debut single 'Antithesis', released in 2014, the band gained massive attention from press and fans, giving them the opportunity to start their international career by playing their first international show at the UK Tech Fest in 2015. In 2017 the band released their first full-length entitled ’Aqua Vitae’, with praise from Metal Hammer, Metal Sucks and many more prestigious press platforms comparing the band to Thy Art is Murder as a reference in the deathcore scene. Their first album provided several opportunities to tour Europe, such as supporting The Faceless in their album release tour, playing major festivals as Resurrection Fest 2018 and UK Tech Fest 2018, and also a headlining tour in Japan, Asia. Fast-forward to 2021, the band released their 2nd EP 'Post Mortem', showing the truest and rawest representation of their sound, combining characteristics from both Ignotum and Aqua Vitae, but in a more mature death metal style, pushing the boundaries with melodic guitar solos, fast drum patterns, straight to your face vocals and acoustic bridges, resulting in a refreshingly new step-up to their sound. This record is considered by many, their darkest and most technical record to date.
