Formed in 2014 from Lisburn, Northern Ireland; The Crawling uses a guttural vocal to combine melancholy with weight, churning out a heavy, doom/death ensemble. January 2015 saw the single ‘Choking On Concrete,’ followed in October by the highly successful EP 'In Light of Dark Days.' 2017 the debut album, 'Anatomy Of Loss' was released, receiving excellent reviews worldwide, followed by ‘Wolves and the Hideous White’ in 2019; again receiving excellent reviews and responses from the media. 2021 came around much too quickly, and whilst working on the new album The Crawling released the single; “Sparrow”, also featuring a B-side Bjork cover of “Play Dead.” 2022/2023 saw the band back on the road headlining dates across the UK, and at home, supporting the single. Touring was put on hold, the recording process started, and 7 new tracks including a reworking of Sparrow were completed. The new album entitled ‘All Of This For Nothing’ explores the human desire to be accepted, fit in, to be part of perceived normality; despite the reality that nothing matters due to the finite nature of existence. The Crawling have established their live performance, notably appearing at Inferno Metal Festival (Norway), Bloodstock Open Air (UK), Seige of Limerick (IRE), Metal Days (SLO), Shellshockfest (Malta), Uprising (UK), Incinerationfest (UK), Mammothfest (UK) and Full Metal Mensa (GER), recent tours with Winterfylleth & Gaera, and Irish tour with Carcass.
