John Louis Schwallie had been recording indie rock songs in the midwest for years before his world came crashing down. In college, he began self-producing and releasing his original material, starting with the "Catalyst EP" in 2014. Soon, John Louis & the Midwest was formed and "We're All Going to Make It" was released in 2015. With his next endeavor, understatements, John dug deeper into his songwriting and released "Tell Me That I'm Not Alone" in 2016. During his final semester at college, John was engaged long-distance as he attended CMC Nashville in Brentwood, TN. As the situation escalated to an intense break-up, John found the only way to process his pain was to write through it In his weekly songwriting assignments. Collaborating with new friend and producer, Benjamin Mariano, he crafted a collection of songs chronicling the failed relationship from beginning to end, and onward to recovery. The full-length album, "I'll Be Fine" was released in 2020, via Despicable Records, followed by a b-sides collection, "Before I Was Fine" in 2021. Visit johnlouismusic.com for more.
