suisei’s distinct sound stemmed from his isolated beginning when he first moved from Jakarta, Indonesia to Washington D.C, United States when he was fifteen years old. Finding out artist such as Lil Peep, Post Malone, Juice WRLD, as well as many other “Soundcloud Rap” generation during his isolation, took suisei back to the time he fell in love with music made by his favorite bands, such as Blink-182, Green Day, and many more. Since starting up 2 years ago, his tracks have reached many audiences, with almost 10k monthly listeners, as well as a supportive and engaging fan community. From starting off as solely a producer under the name “dextrust” he was bound to push the envelope, to make something more complete to encapsulate his character than just beautiful instrumentation. Storytelling is one of his main abilities, among many others, suisei loves to tell a good story. Take “You & Me” a song about a confession of his frustrations and hopes for his long distance relationship to work. Although the relationship ended, suisei was able to evoke relatable feeling from his listeners through his relatable lyric, whiny vocal, and emotional instrumental. Searching for an answer he already has, suisei takes his listeners to a journey of finding themselves, and himself included.
