Biyografi
A collaboration between a hardcorepunk and a melodic skatepunk formed as Monk in 1997 by guitarist and singer Mo Brodén and bassphantom Daniel Mårtensson in the city of Tidaholm, Sweden. They changed their name to The Liptones when drummer Johan ”Kaka” Öjdahl joined and several demos were recorded. After recruited trumpetplayer Niklas ”Snick” Gustavsson, P-A Wester on saxophone and Henke Bromander on organ they got contracted by AMTY Records, Stockholm and released their debut album ”Latest News” in 2002 followed by ”In English” in 2006. After heavy touring in Europe and Scandinavia, Kaka Öjdahl left the band and drummer Robert ”Bobban” Eklund took over and the more soulinspired ”The Meaning of Life” was released in 2011. The Liptones have always been big fans of the english punk and 2 Tone scene but in 2014 it was time to explore something new and the high critically acclaimed ”Sidospår” was released. All songs with swedish lyrics. Several singels and Ep’s have also been released such as the latest split single with Japanese band Beat Bahnhof in 2017. The Liptones is one of Swedens most popular skabands of all time and have a strong reputation as being a hell of a liveband on stage (and sometimes off stage:) They have played many festivals in Scandinavia and Europe such as The London International Ska Festival, Rebellion Festival UK, Mighty Sounds in Czech Republic and This Is Ska Festival in Germany. They are still going strong so go and see them! Now!
