Them Flying Monkeys are an alternative rock band that originated from Sintra, Portugal. In 2016 they played the opening slot for the Brooklyn trio, Sunflower Bean at Vodafone Mexefest. Their first LP, "Golden Cap", was edited and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment in 2017, year which it occurs their first national tour of clubs and festivals, that embodied one of the key moments for the band in the Portuguese indie scene. Along with their first international tour around Spain, France and Italy in the spring of 2019, they begin to unravel new roots and musical backgrounds that come to fruition in the shape of ‘Under The Weather’, edited by the Portuguese label Montanha Records in 2020. Them Flying Monkeys return with their new single "Next Emma Stone", a breakthrough theme, which underlines the band's desire to look for new ways to approach their music. This single joins the recently released EP “The Silence Between Songs”, recorded live during the pandemic, and which also gave rise to a concert film. After the tour to present their second studio album was cancelled, Them Flying Monkeys isolated themselves in Algarve, in an attempt to explore new textures and sounds. “Next Emma Stone” is the first glimpse of the band's retreat, a lonely cry of emancipation, drawn under doubts and frustrations. A song in the form of revolt, which is not afraid to be taken by rock n ' roll to a place of detachment and introspection, and can be seen as the antithesis of a "love song".
