Born in Bremen, Germany and based in Los Angeles, Rusher has been active in the drum & bass scene since the early 2000s with releases on legacy labels such as Eatbrain, Barcode Recordings, Citrus, Trust In Music, and more. As a DJ and producer of over 20 years, Rusher has developed a dark, hard-edged style that combines the depth of a cinematic score with precision production standards inspired by the likes of Phace and Noisia. Rusher’s high-energy DJ sets have torn up every major drum & bass event in Germany, taking him across Europe from Hungary to Spain and Poland. In 2008 Rusher also started producing high-quality Hip Hop beats, the same year he linked up with Albuquerque-based MC Kayohes, who quickly became a constant collaborator. Then during his first visit to LA, Rusher met V3rb and they started working on tracks together right away. The last missing piece was Steez, a talented MC from Rusher’s hometown Bremen. The four artists are now releasing music together, solo and as a group, through their imprint Misfit Music. Today, Rusher equally focuses on producing dark Half-time tracks, his signature Drum & Bass style, and Hip Hop tracks, with a ridiculous amount of constant releases in all genres.
