The Western Ghats is an Electronic/Alternative Rock Musical Group based out of Mumbai, India. The band is a genre-bending, musical force that’s both unpredictable and distinctive. Their music is the product of culmination of the experiences and influences of the six members that make up the band. The group has released over 5 singles and with their new 7-Track Album, ‘Self Help Radio’ they’re already making waves in the independent music space with their consistency and caring about the details, without ever sacrificing its modern edge and nimble experimentation. The electronica sounds that define The Western Ghats give it a depth that is ever-present in their tracks. This can be defined as bass and beats that never stop, chasing the melody lines associated with acoustic song writing, rhythm-guitar and folkloric elements coming together to create a newfound musical cinema. The tracks have enjoyed wide-spread acceptance from audience spread across 102 countries, music magazines and critics like Rolling Stone, A Humming Heart, Indian Express and more, and have delivered commercial success on various streaming platforms and radio as well like Spotify, Gaana and Wynk, Fever FM, Big FM, Radio Mirchi, etc. Currently, the band boasts a monthly stream count of 70k with total stream count of 700k on Spotify alone.
