My name is Cogan. I’ve been alive for 18 years. I make introspective songs in my bedroom to confront my social qualms and emotional experiences. Although I have always had a knack for creative pursuits, it was not until December of 2020 that I released my first professional song and realized music as my primary outlet for expression. Throughout the COVID-19 lockdown I rarely ventured beyond the orange walls of my bedroom, leading me to become a somewhat shy observer of the world. I fell in love with the music of khai dreams, boy pablo and Dayglow—and more recently Mac Miller and Frank Ocean—artists who continue to inspire what I create. Despite being raised in a progressive town full of confident, unique people, I am rarely comfortable in my own skin. I feel that my songs reflect this personal characteristic; but as I evolve, so will my music. Welcome to the ride—I am eternally grateful that you are here.
