"My love is in the music." - Tama Waipara (from Medicine Man- FILL UP THE SILENCE) A singer/ songwriter whose musical journey spans Aotearoa/ New Zealand, New York and Munich - Tama Waipara hails from Te Tairāwhiti - the mighty East Coast. Tama's music is built from a love of soul, an early grounding in classical music, a foray into the dance and breakbeat scene and a definitive Māori perspective across it all. Blending languages and influences, there are traces of melodious 80s synth pop to the dusty and dirt laden acoustic folk. From rhythms of Polynesia and overlaid with Tama's earthy and rich vocal treatments, this music is at times eclectic and affecting.
