Carson James Argenna emerged as 2020’s darling TikTok breakout artist after a rousing verse of “Soulmate Song” found virality. On the heels of this success, his debut track “Budding Romance” (2019) gained ground, and he scored a contract with Columbia Records. Nearly a year after the song was teased on TikTok, Soulmate Song was finally released with high anticipation on September 18th, with a music video to follow September 21st. A few months later a cheekily titled remix was released that changed the vibe of the song completely. A song can be done in a lot of different ways right? Born January 16, 1997, the singer, songwriter, and self-confessed “oddball” from Rochester, New York is the epitome of a playful storyteller. While weaving thoughtful lyrics with dulcet pop melodies that gently probe his audience, he retains an air of down-to-earth goofiness. Various jobs at a nursing home, a skate shop, and his church as a videographer continue to inform his perspective and ability to comment on the messy, grey areas spanning psychology and politics to anthropology and faith. Carson's next single will be out sometime in 2021.
