We all need time A constant of life Like an unrelenting tide It heals yet it binds But I don't like time We all need change For we can't remain In the structures we've made We need to rearrange But I don't like change We all need quiet A little respite To break the rhythm and the rhyme When you're feeling tired But I don"t like quiet We all need love Its all that we've got But it takes a lot of trust And I don't have enough So I don't like love Tell me why we treat time like it's punishment Always rushing from the start to the end of it Racing from the womb to the tomb We don't leave any room to just (take on) a little bit of ease We were born into the fray No time to wait A pit stop ain't got no time to stay And we wonder why we cannot dream Well maybe we should close our eyes and see We set our affections on the prize of the toil Forsaking His love as we relent to the soil The ground wasn't made to be the master A crown only reserved for the Father Are there not hundreds of reasons To turn all of my gaze upon Jesus I am beginning to see Time's never wasted when I'm resting in Thee Are there not hundreds of reasons To turn all of my gaze upon Jesus I am beginning to see Time's never wasted when I'm resting in Thee
