Samara Cyn is a neo-soul, hip hop fusion. You can hear southern twang in her music with hints of west-coast influence and lingo. Cyn’s sound is a breath of fresh air in a modern era that calls back to the Erykah’s and Lauryn’s. Simply put in her bios she “makes music for ya auntie.” Her concepts are rooted in internal conflicts with self, society, and peace. While her message and raspy voice are quite different from the current trends, what truly sets her apart is her knack for fitting smoothly into the pockets of various styles of production with a niche in our favorite laid back tempos. Cyn has turned her free, early open mic performances into opening invitations and headlines for artists and venues such as Teddy Swims, Tory Lanez, SuperDuperKyle, Futuristic, House of Blues in Houston, Valley Bar, and Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix. Cyn has named some of her inspirations to be Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Missy Elliot, Slick Rick, JID, and Kendrick Lamar. She’s currently a recording artist/songwriter based in L.A. and hailing all the way from Tennessee.
