When The Manor first started making music their aim was no more than making each other laugh. They’d while away the hours after school freestyling over beats played out from the tinny speakers of a flip phone, incorporating in jokes and references indecipherable to those outside their circle. “All our songs were written for about 20 people", laughs Scotty Stacks, one third of the south London trio. However, The Manor’s infectious vibe and legendary parties meant that groups of 20 people grew rapidly. Soon enough, a room full of friends became an army of like minded individuals. This army of followers has grown to such an extent that HAVING PREVIOUSLY SOLD OUT THE ELECTRIC, KOKO, THE FORUM AND THE ROUNDHOUSE, their next London show at the iconic O2 Academy Brixton, has SOLD OUT MONTHS IN ADVANCE. “Everyone was writing songs about popping champagne, we were most used to not getting into clubs at all,” Danny Graft says of The Manor’s low-key beginnings. Bred on a diet of grime and garage, a mix of icons like Wiley and local heroes such as Roadside G’s, The Manor put humour and heart into infectious tunes and quotable bars. Live is where The Manor truly reach their peak. The group started throwing house parties which then became pub gigs until their local in Beckenham became too small and the venues of the capital came knocking. They even kicked off 2019 with a hardcore U.K. jaunt supporting The Streets and go on to perform their headline show at O2 Academy Brixton.
