Ethiopian born, Canadian-raised rapper Naya Ali is an award winning rap and hip hop artist . Assertive in her raspy deliveries and exceptional flow, she is quickly noticed for unique vocal tone and ability to move in and out of flow pockets skillfully. In March 2020, she released the first part of a two-album project: Godspeed: Baptism(Prelude), where she broke the ice and proved her potential to contend within the American and international hip hop markets. In 2021, she released the sequel to this opus, Godspeed: Elevated- an earnest body of work showcasing her journey from baptism into the rap game, to her imminent elevation. If the prelude was a humble introduction, this latest chapter testifies that Naya Ali is an artist of exception, power, bravado but more importantly, of vulnerability. Ali is also recipient of several awards and accolades, including the 2022 ADISQ Album of The Year, SOCAN award for Canadian Black Music (2021), Rap Album of the Year GAMIQ (2022), the English Artist of the Year award at the Dynastie gala (2020), and the Montreal Arts Council Excellence Award for Black History Month (2022), English Album of the Year award nomination at the ADISQ Gala (2020).
