From Ontario, Canada, Rob and Darren met in college at a Music Industry Arts Program. Rob, an accomplished pianist and audio engineer, and Darren, a working guitarist and vocalist, were both avid home recordists. Coming from different musical backgrounds suggested that they might create something unique as a team. They joined forces under the name SoundSwitch. In the span of 5 years starting in 2010, with both handling almost all of the instrumentation, they recorded three albums, and multiple singles with their most successful being 2012's Walk Into Now. Their recording of Don Felder's Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride) has charted numerous times in over 20 countries, including Spotify's Top 50 Viral Songs in Germany, and the iTunes-Apple Music Top 10 charts in Europe, Africa and South America. In 2020, Heavy Metal (Takin' a Ride) was selected to be on the official soundtrack for the Heavy Metal Magazine pinball machine along with Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Sebastian Bach and others. The single Radar Rider was released in 2021.
