Bisaya hype trap is Cookie$ in a nutshell. He spits stories of everyday life and expressions of personal beliefs delivered in a balls-to-the-wall and in-your-face package of rhyme and rhythm. Devoid of pretense, his songs particularly tickle Cebuanos’ fancy, catapulting him into popularity in the local music industry. Since the release of his debut single “Bogo” in 2019, its music video has garnered over 6M views to date. Cookie$ was also Spotify's top trending artist in the Philippines and was number one on Spotify's Top Hits Philippines when "Bogo" was released. He was born in Ormoc City, went to college in Cebu City, and then moved to Atlanta, USA later on. Despite his recent start as a hip-hop artist based in Atlanta, USA, Cookie$ had already been an active player in the local music scene as the drummer for homegrown pop-punk bands Drop Decay and Shuffled back in college. He cites Key! And Kenny Beats (specifically their 777 album), Kanye West, Future, Urbandub, and Missing Felimon as his biggest musical influences, as well as Christian music and heavy metal. All these coupled with the flow of Atlanta trap, Cookie$ stands out by incorporating his native tongue, Bisaya, through tongue-in-cheek lyrics and beats that cannot be ignored.
