"The Most Controversial Iranian Metal Band! The Iranian Metal Guerrillas!" Loudwire Confess formed in Tehran, Iran 2010, located in Harstad, Norway. The band is known for facing charges in Iran for their political music. The band members incur more than 14 years in prison in Iran. The full charges levied against the band included blasphemy; advertising against the system. Band members Nikan & Arash were arrested on 10 November 2015 and held in solitary confinement for 3 months, 13 months in public sector of Evin prison, Tehran. At that time, they potentially faced execution after being charged with blasphemy. Their second album included tracks entitled "Thorn Within", "Teh-Hell-Ran" and "l'm Your God Now" which are considered blasphemous and critical against the political standards by the government. Both original members of the band received political asylum in Norway and invitation to live; Currently, Nikan and Arash live in Norway; they are not in danger of extradition back to Iran. On 9 July 2019, the band members were sentenced to 14 plus years in prison by the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran. For the crime of playing metal, frontman Nikan Siyanor has also been sentenced to 74 lashes. After adding the new Norwegian members into the band's line-up Confess has played multiple shows in Norway and recently performed as the opening act for Mayhem.
