Born in South Africa, Lastee is one of the foremost artists of the generation that emerged in the wake of the influence of the hip-hop culture in South Africa. Lastee is a self-taught musician who started in an informal studio using cheap software and a computer to fine his craft. There he advanced an acute interest in working with a lot of artists who relished his way of making music and subsequently refining his musical talent and gaining experience. Lastee’s work can be found in myriad of public broadcasts and not excluding television, radio and online blogs and stores. Lastee has worked with a lot of local and international producers and artists like Zakwe, Pro (Kid), Beast, S’fiso Ncwane, Duncan (on a song that features Mampintsha “Big Nuz”, Mdu Masilela, Professor and A.K.A), MarazA, DreamTeam, Gemini Major, Aewon Wolf, Cuebur, Dj Sphectacula & Naves, Stogie T (Tumi), Mathew Gold, Tellaman (on a song featuring Nasty C) , Kwesta, Jonny Miller (U.K), D-Malice (U.K), Pascal Morais(Netherlands), N’dinga Gaba (U.S.A). Lastee is a five times OMA (Original Material Award) winner “Best Producer 2012”, Metro award winning “Remix of the Year 2014/5” and a SAMA (South African Music Award) Nominee “Remix of the Year 2014/5”, MtvAfrica Music Award Nominee. Runner up at the Battle of the year 2010/2011 and won “Back to the City Producer Battle 2013”.
