In 2022 Zedikaya followed his introspective project, Eyes Wide, with the divertive single Speak Your Truth featuring Liim and shit got crazy. Since then, he’s blessed several stages in New York and LA while still finding time for some studio hibernation. Now a member of the 202 Collective, Zedikaya is stretching his creativity to a more unpredictable and all-encompassing writing style. The new drop, overpriced & underwhelming, is a deeply personal testament to life away from home and dialing deeper into the sound Zedy finds most true to his spirit. The songs are honest in a way that is almost intimate as he broaches subjects that range from relationship struggles to escaping mental pain. The woozy, post-apocalyptic beats produced by anantshah and Isokeys set a vibe that is part late night B-film score, part afterhours dancehall but 100% Zedy. Listening to the new EP streaming brings you close to the Zedy experience, but nothing is quite like his live show. Look for Zediaya performing in venues around the LA area, or with 202 Collective who will be touring nationally.
