Austria’s Prince of summer vibes Pressyes returns with his new single “Blue Crystal Water” on July 7, 2023. The track is about kaleidoscopic reflections of the present and the past. The present: taking roadtrips along the coast of Fuerteventura - where the Pressyes-family (Marlene Lacherstorfer and baby Mona) recorded a music video on 16mm Kodak Celluloid. The past: ecstatically absorbing the sound of his friend Courtney's steel drum while dancing around electrified. But that’s a different story: years ago René Mühlberger aka Pressyes played guitar for Courtney Jones’s band. Born in Trinidad and raised by Caribbean rhythms, Courtney moved to Vienna in 1995 to make music. He was highly established in the Austrian world music scene, being a gifted drummer, percussionist and steelpan player. Only recently Pressyes inherited Courtney’s steelpan - “Blue Crystal Water” is a tribute to Courtney Jones, René’s friend and musical companion, who passed away way too early. With both albums ‘On The Run’ and ‚Breeze In Breeze Out’ producer and musician René Mühlberger (Clueso, Velojet, Bilderbuch, CariCari,…) reached international radio rotations, 7 singles landed on the radio FM4 Charts - both albums were nominated for the FM4 Austrian Amadeus Music Award (2019 + 2023) and the singles „We are Shadows“ and „Purpose“ got re-released on Kitsuné Records. For his upcoming album Pressyes is taking on new musical adventures - the steelpan being his pathfinder.
