Mixing the hooks of pop-rap with descriptive verses often found in the hardcore side of the genre, Brooklyn rapper Josh Baze was born and raised just a few blocks from the home of his idol, Biggie Smalls. His commitment to music came from following his DJ father from gig to gig, and from record swap to record swap, but when Baze took to the business himself, he learned that the money didn't come easy. He turned to modeling to pay the bills, even getting a campaign for Versace, but in 2010 he met label producer Griffin Guess, and signed to his imprint, Cartel Records. In 2011, he dropped the "We Made It" single along with the accompanying video, which was directed by Hype Williams. His debut album, Hi-Heels & Low- Life, followed in 2012 and featured the hit single "She's Gold" which found radio success nationally alongside TV appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Carson Daly and the Wendy Willams show. In 2014, Baze dropped his second follow up album, "Colour Blind”, then set off with national tour dates with Childish Gambino, 2chains, and Ludacris — after returning back to Brooklyn, Josh Baze took a short break from music to continue his acting, and modeling career. Josh returned in June of 2020 with his third, self-titled project, “Josh Baze" which is a mix of explosive, thought provoking lyrics that carry constant catchy production throughout. Baze proves up once again with songs such as ”Unbroken", “Shift”, and Pop heavy “Notice” and “Run” to round out this solid third release
