Amed group was a musical group of NÇM in Istanbul. It was established in 1988 in the city of Ankara with medical students. The Amed Group was founded in 1988 in Ankara, Turkey by Fikri Kutlay, Gulşen Çetin (Kutlay), Ahmet Kaya, Evdilmelek Şekbekir and several Kurdish students. His first tape called Kuleja Azadi, a pirate song, was released because at that time Kurdish music was banned in Turkey. However, this tape was reprinted in 1990, but it was still banned. In 1991, the Amed Group continued its work at the NCM (Mesopotamian Culture Center). At that time, a member of the group, Evdilmelek Şekbekir, joined the forces of freedom and started his life after 6 months in 199. . At that time, the members of the Amed Group were: Fikri Kutlay, Ahmet Kaya, Serhat Karakas (he left the Deng Azadi group and joined the Amed Group) Merdan, Mehmet Gül(Memo)irkan çelik, Memet Kaya, Evin, Süleyman Gültekin. prepared and released the name Fire and Man. Following this work, the most famous Cassette called Derguş was prepared. Dergush was sold at around 400,000. Amed Group did not produce this product. Group members Serhat, Süleyman and Memo went to Europe and 3 years later Serhat, Fikri, Ahmet, Memo and Süleyman formed a group called Char Newa. Members of the Amed Group continue to act like Ahmet Kaya. [5] Several members of the Amed Group are currently active as Char Newa.
