Kadeema is the journey of two good friends into freedom. Born in Surrey, England, Jimmy Chauveau’s musical introduction was through singing along to Queen VHS tapes at his Nan’s. Moving to Brantford, ON at age 13, Jim eventually relocated just outside of Toronto to attend audio school where he met Tal, fresh off the boat Israeli immigrant. Four years of living in Mersin, Turkey as a young boy where he spent days binge watching MTV set in motion Tal’s love of music. Moving across the world to Canada as a 24 year old introduced him to Chaveau, and the pair began collaborating and performing together, most notably in their former group, Ascot Royals. Earlier this year, the duo collaborated with drummer, producer, and the yin to their yang, Isaac Carpenter (AWOLNATION, Duff McKagan, Adam Lambert) on tracks that would eventually lead them down the path to the creation of their debut EP – a sarcastic, fun batch of rock songs with loads of social commentary and personal reflection. The tracks set for their upcoming EP are mainly songs about their lives, their struggles to not conform to normality and seek a different path. A journey to freedom while acknowledging the wrongs in society that they try to right at least within themselves. Kadeema are currently putting the finishing touches on these songs with sights set on a May 2020 release date. All the while, they’ll be playing shows across North America.
