At 22, Mars Mignon is a singer-songwriter and actor. Growing up in Asheville, North Carolina, he listened to many artists, but particularly Jason Mraz, Ben Folds, Jonny Lang, and John Mayer would influence and inspire his style of nostalgic lyrics and alt-blues pop sound. In October 2020, Mars released Elysium, his first new single since building a following on TikTok. He sings over a descending guitar riff, bass-heavy beat, and atmospheric organs exploring the little moments that mold a rich, bold, and deep romantic love. He opened 2021 with his first collaboration, where he partnered with fellow artist and good friend Lora Mouna on haunting-like belty synth pop duet Gorgeous People. He followed that up with an acoustic EP, If You’re Reading This, My Number Hasn’t Changed, with a long-requested stripped version of hit Elysium. Seven months later, Mars released Today Years Old, a song that fuses internet jargon with nostalgic storytelling, supported by a big fun pop sound, using synth bass, bright guitars, and fun lyrics.
