MicroMatscenes is the solo project of the Italian musician, singer and producer Matteo Guarino. The music is totally focused on 80s and 90s revival, but the main vibe is “vivid dreams from the 80s”, with references to movies, videogames and overall vintage culture. Unlike other producers of instrumental RetroWave/Outrun music, the aesthetics of MicroMatscenes are a lot based on his personal image. The latest EP is based on the recent novel “Billy Summers” by Stephen King, presenting an updated version of the classic RetroWave/Outrun sound, following the sonic path of modern productions like Stranger Things and Dawn FM. The upcoming album is a sequel of the successful debut EP Scenes, called “SCENES II”, celebrating again the 80s music aesthetics with an experimental synthwave sound. Matteo also curates a playlist: A RetroWave Story (feat. The Midnight, L’Avenue, The Weeknd, Mitch Murder and more)
