As one of the world’s premiere guzheng musicians, Bei Bei has played an integral role in introducing this ancient Chinese instrument to a worldwide audience. Since making her debut in 2006, She has been prominently featured on Disney soundtracks, performed with global stars such as Christina Aguilera, and released several critically acclaimed original albums. Bei Bei’s fusion of Chinese classical and western contemporary is unlike anything in modern music, and continues to endear her to an ever-growing fanbase. Bei Bei was born in Chengdu, China, where she fell in love with the guzheng as a child. She went on to study the instrument at The Central University of Nationalities in Beijing and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, developing the classical virtuosity that would define her career. As an adult, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she started to collaborate and creating contemporary fusion music with artists such as the prolific Shawn Lee and Fingazz. Bei Bei’s longevity can be attributed to her genuine love of Chinese music and unceasing commitment to musical innovation. She continues to find new ways of integrating traditional culture into modern music, breaking new ground and introducing the guzheng to a new generation. With a series of new releases scheduled for 2021 and beyond, Bei Bei is poised to be a fixture in contemporary music for years to come.
