A critically acclaimed recording artist and multi-platinum songwriter, Wendy Waldman has a diverse career that spans across genres ranging from pop, country, rhythm and blues, and jazz, to film, television, and childrens music. Waldman, one of the first distinguished female record producers, is the daughter of composer and film music scholar Fred Steiner (Perry Mason, Star Trek, The Twilight Zone) and has co-written numerous hit songs, including Save the Best for Last and The Sweetest Days (Vanessa Williams); Fishin in the Dark (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Garth Brooks); I Owe You One (Aaron Neville); the Wrangler Award-winning cowboy Christmas song, Corn, Water, and Wood (Michael Martin Murphy); and I Want a Horse (released as a duet between Waldman and Linda Ronstadt). Wendy Waldmans first solo album, Love Has Got Me, was released by Warner Bros. Records in 1973 and proclaimed by Rolling Stone to be the singer-songwriter debut of the year. Artists and recordings she has produced include the ACMA Award-winning Somewhere Between (Suzy Bogguss), Friday Night in America (New Grass Revival featuring Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, John Cowan, and Pat Flynn), Bryndle, (comprised of Waldman, Karla Bonoff, Andrew Gold, and Kenny Edwards),The Refugees (comprised of Waldman, Deborah Holland, and Cidny Bullens), platinum Polish vocalist Mietek Szczesniak, and the final album of acoustic jazz artist Artie Traum.
