I’m releasing a record called “Dream Songs” on August 24th. The music on the album represents what’s happened in my life in the last few years, and I hope it shows my love for everyone who took part in that time with me. My friends and family have supported, loved, challenged and laughed with me and that is what I like to write songs about. I want to love more and better, I want to surrender more, I want to live with less fear, I want to participate in healing and connecting. I think I subconsciously write about the things I’m hoping for, and the songs on this album are about those desires. Having the opportunity to make and release music is a serious blessing, so thank you for anyone who will listen to it and get something out of it. Also, shout out to everyone putting their hearts and souls on their sleeves in their art, you are giving strength to other people (like me) to make their own art and do it with as little fear as possible. I have admiration for artists and people who are unafraid to continually discover who they are. This record is a tribute to those people and to whatever level of that intention I can summon in myself. This album is self-released, there is no label involved. I think creative freedom is really important, so I’m really happy to have the opportunity to release my own music. I came up with my own ‘label’: You Are Accepted. It’s the title of an essay by Paul Tillich that I think is awesome, and it’s also a nice sentence to hear.
