Ford Turrell's self-titled debut, released independently, was inspired by albums from the 60s and 70s, where all of the musicians are in one room and the songs on the record reflect the life and energy in the room at the time the songs were recorded. The record received strong reviews in American Songwriter and other online and print publications. Songs from the record were featured in several television shows, and the song The Stillest Hour was a #1 song in Australia after being recorded by Carl Riseley. 
 After a lengthy break from songwriting, in late 2015 Ford was contacted by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, James Bay) about recording a follow up. The songs for the follow up were recorded at King's studio in Nashville in late summer 2017 with King producing and mixing. These songs debut on Ford's newest record, titled Days Go By.
