Since 2010, JC Autobody has carved out a unique brand of noisy, protopunk-influenced doom that embodies the cold, harsh Rust Belt that raised him. Autobody's initial releases were a trio of anything-goes home-recorded EPs that drew on influences as broad as Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple, and and the all out noise of Jay Reatard and Pissed Jeans. His 2015 debut LP, "Young Tobacco," was a cleaner collection of Sabbath-influenced garage-burners, but the followup EP of "Witches" released on Halloween of the same year was a veritable fuzz masterpiece of doom-inspired epics such as the title track "Seven Steeples," written about the now-shuttered Central State Hospital (also know as the Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane). The latest album, "Turbo," is a late night rager at the intersection of shock rock, glam rock, heavy rock and gentle doom, and is the first JC Autobody record to be released on limited edition vinyl.
