Atmospheric doom metal pioneers from Turkey, Illusions Play was established in 2011 in Istanbul by the Ukrainian musician Vitaliy Petrenko. Started as a duo and a studio project, Illusions Play’s first album "The Fading Light" was released by the FONO ltd. record label in 2014. The band's debut album was embraced by doom metal listeners all over the world and also received positive reviews from the global metal scene. After the release of Snowflakes EP in 2015, band performed live at various venues in Turkey even during the pandemic. In 2021 “The Spaceless” single is released. After completing its line-up, Illusions Play continued working on new songs and almost finished recording its upcoming album. The band's genre can be described as atmospheric doom-death metal with funeral doom metal influences. The band's music stands out with its gloomy melodies, slow and somber guitar riffs, shattering scream vocals, growls and emotional clean vocals. Illusions Play is now looking for a record label to release the promising second album and looking forward to meeting the audience from all around the world.
