Saltwater Sun are a UK based quintet crafting sun-drenched, blistering pop. Punctured by explosive guitars and deftly fusing elements of shoegaze and indie with the edginess of garage rock, Saltwater Sun are marshalled by Jennifer Stearnes’ gritty yet infectious vocals. Childhood friends, the group formed in Reading and alongside Stearnes, are; guitarists Dan Kingham and Joel Neale, bassist Rob Carter and drummer Benny Chandler. In 2018 Saltwater Sun returned with heavyweight single ‘The Wire’, which topped the Hype Machine chart, earning BBC R1, Radio X and BBC 6 Music airtime. The next cut, ‘Hot Mess’ followed suit - reaching #1 on the Hype Machine chart with regular support on BBC R1. Saltwater Sun are known for their energetic live shows, receiving rapturous receptions at capacity shows, earning them a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals 2018. Championed by Clash, DIY, The Line of Best Fit and Wonderland magazines, Saltwater Sun have been tipped as one of Dork’s ‘Hype List’ artists for 2019, kicking off the year as main support for Jimmy Eat World on their UK headline shows. The band released the critically acclaimed EP 'The Great Deceiver' in April, featuring 'Blood', BBC Introducing's Radio 1 track of the week.
