Pettyy is an underground female MC coming out of Jamaica, Queens, New York. She’s been rapping for over 10 years and has been working to make her name in Hip Hop since 2017. Some of Pettyy’s biggest influences include Nas, J. Cole, Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifah, Joyner Lucas, Kendrick Lamar, Mos Def, Nicki Minaj, and many more legendary artist. She released her EP entitled “Ave Baby” in the winter of 2020 and since then has been dropping freestyles on Instagram and Tik Tok which has earned her the respect of many influential people in the game. Petty raised by her single mother in the city of Jamaica. She would burn CDs of many influential artists of the time and let Pettyy listen to them on her radio. Nas (also a Queens Native) sparked her interest in Hip Hop and all its elements. It wasn't until middle school when she became a fan of Nicki Minaj, another Queens Native, that she finally wrote her first rhyme. But from that point forward, she’s never stopped writing. In November 2017, Pettyy posted her first freestyle on Instagram. Since then, she’s used social media as a tool to not only grow her following but find her tribe. She's performed on stages all around NYC and more recently got the opportunity to share the stage with artists like Mase, Ashanti, Ja Rule, & Fat Joe. Pettyy continues to put out thought-provoking, head-bopping music that gets better with each release. She makes sure to always represent her hometown of Queens, women, and people of color everywhere.
