Perseverance - The new single by LANUGO, along with its video version, brings strong emotions and a message about the depths of the universe and life, but also hope. “I wrote the song in five minutes after reading the text. I liked how visual the lyrics are, they screened in my head like a movie. I wanted the piano riff to have an 80s feeling, that’s the time of my childhood. I wanted to transfer the tender nostalgic atmosphere that radiates from the text to the music. The enchantment with the exploration of the universe as a metaphor for children’s exploration of the world and a clear reference to the movie Ulysses and the Stars. The tenderness of a caring mom. Hope. And sadness caused by the fact that we will not be here forever, ” the producer/composer Viliam Béreš comments. In addition to singer Markéta Foukalová & Béreš, LNG are the bass player Rastislav Uhrík, the drummers Martin Kopřiva and Martin Novák, and the guitarist Mirek Šmilauer. Their live performances offer a thrilling and energetic experience. In 2009, they released their eponymous debut, in 2011 they launched their second album with the simple title Lanugo, 2011 which was nominated for the Czech Music Critics Choice Award Apollo. This was followed by an EP and Lanugo, 2014 which included the hit Sára. In the 2019 recording, the producer Viliam took the sound into unchartered waters using a strong melancholic motif throughout. Lanugo are currently working on a new record that will come out next year.
