Meewakching have explored a wide range of sub-genres in indie rock, primarily melding post-punk, neo-psychedelia, and alternative rock. Their latest single Shall We Go Somewhere Else? inclines toward indie pop as opposed to their earlier neo-psychedelia sound. Their full length debut album Thengmankhre Hee Ado Lakpa, Eikhoidi Sikhiba Kuire Erolnungda (It Was Too Late For The Boat To Arrive, We Were Dead Long Ago Underneath The Lake) released in 2021 achieved critical acclaim from leading sites such as Rolling Stone India, Rock Street Journal, The Indian Music Diaries, A Humming Heart etc. 
 They have also performed at music festivals such as Where Have All The Flowers Gone? (Manipur), Bloomverse Festival (Assam), Ziro Festival of Music (Arunachal Pradesh) and many other live concerts in Manipur. One of the most active bands in Manipur, Meewakching are known for a dedicated following that affirms them as a staple in every concert line-up in and around Imphal. In frequent live shows, they exhibit their brazen stage antics and high octane performances. Despite the fact that they are an independent (unsigned) band, they have embarked on a North East India tour and managed to fill their discography with a full-length studio album, a singles compilation album, 2 EP's in a span of only 4 years since their inception— which is arguably a feat that is unheard of in the Imphal independent music scene.
