Jessica Lá Rel is a cinematic soul artist and songwriter from Chicago by way of Oakland that delivers high energy grooves, soaring vocals, and provocative lyrics about life, love and justice. Her freshman album, War Love featured guest appearances by Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse, Laura Mvula, and Gregory Porter) and EAGLEBABEL of The Outsiders. War Love landed her features on The Root and several short film awards for her title track music video. Her 2016 debut EP, Four Freedoms ranked #12 on the UK Soul Charts, with singles like "#WeCantBreathe" and "Rule The World". Lá Rel has also graced stages for Oprah Winfrey, US. Rep John Lewis and Rev. Jesse Jackson. She is most known for her soaring vocals and thrilling live performances. Lá Rel has opened for Melanie Fiona, Luke James, Jeremih, Macklemore, and Omarion. In 2019 Lá Rel landed a nomination for Best R&B Song for the Independent Music Awards for her song “Here Comes The Sun”.
